Photographs by Mel Bles
My Final Major Project is coming up, I'm still having trouble with idea's. Starting off with a piece from one of the exhibitions or museums i've been to is hard. I am going to take my self back to the Horniman Museum and The Natural History Museum to have a hunt for ideas. I'm feeling I want to do a 2x Double Page spread for a collection. This means me making all the pieces though in a total of 8 weeks including research.

I've seen a lot of nature inspired bits and pieces recently. I loved the photoshoot on James Browns Great British Hairdresser show on Channel 4. The black bird piece was amazing. At the Natural History Museum they have Stag Beetles and Animal Bones I was thinking maybe transcripting these into a garment then using this as inspiration for my models hair and Make Up. I would quite like to do Geisha type hair/eyes.  I have the perfect Model, Holly, she looks a whole lot like Abbey Lee Kershaw, except dark hair, dark eyes, 5 ft 11.

I'm taking a lot of inspriation from this video, I love it Clare Maguire- Ain't Nobody (Breakage Remix)

Idea's for hair for the show. Renaissance is all about plaits, loose curls, waves, 'god like' hair to me. Long and natural looking.

Lookbook  - found a few head pieces of look book, check it out.

I found some photos of shoes, I was thinking maybe attach some coursages to the models shoes for the show.

I found some amazing head pieces on this website ChloeANDMaddie. Here are some...

I was thinking this accessorize flower head piece could look really good for the Renaissance show, if i make my own, but larger with richer colours. Similar to this one worn by Rihanna who I previously blogged about in this photo. I might buy the accessorize piece for myself.

Renaissance Fashion Show 15th June

Reigate School of Art, Media & Design are holding a renaissance themed fashion show on the 15th of June, when I first heard we were holding a fashion show in June I assumed it would be summer themed, like flowers, greenary, insects and make the catwalk into almost like a garden. Renaissance was so far from this in my mind at first but now I realise the colourings, textures and richness can easily go into summer themed. Need to gather idea's for Hair/Make up and decorations for it. Some inspiring renaissance paintings/photos.
